There are zoning by-laws and building bylaws associated with building projects in the Neepawa & Area Planning District. A building permit is a document that grants legal permission to begin the work on a building project. As per the building by-law any construction, renovation, relocation, alteration or demolition of any type of building (agricultural, residential, commercial) requires a building/development permit.
No person shall undertake or authorize work to proceed on a project unless a permit exists. Where a permit has not been obtained prior to the commencement of the actual work, the fees shall be double the normal rate.
