SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL POLICY AND INFORMATION
The Rural Municipality of Rosedale has made provisions to dispose of solid waste that is generated within the Municipality. This has been done to protect your environment and the environment for future generations and to meet Provincial Environment Regulations.
Please assist us in meeting our regulatory responsibilities and do so at a minimum cost to all residents in the Municipality of Rosedale.
~ OPEN BURNING OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE IS’ NOT PERMITTED. (Burning provisions for ‘straw, leaves, trees, boards and untreated boards have been developed at Eden and Kelwood facilities.)
PLEASE PLACE YOUR WASTE ‘IN THE,APPROPRIATE DESIGNATED AREA.
AREAS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED FOR THE FOLLOWING:
- Household waste
- Oil containers and filters
- Shingles and hard plastic
- Construction wood (painted, stained and wooden furniture)
- Metal products (washing machines, dryers, rebar)
- Trees and untreated lumber
- Used tiresSort household garbage. This not only assists with the operation of the facility it also reduces your operational costs.
Used oil and filters can be delivered to the sites where proper, safe containers are provided.
Fridges, freezers, air conditioners (with Freon removed) may be taken to the dumps.
Users are encouraged to cooperate with the employees at these facilities. Failure to comply will result in additional operational costs or closure of this facility.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT BLACK GARBAGE BAGS IN THE RECYLING.
PAPER: All newsprint, magazines, flyers, writing paper, envelopes, catalogues, paper egg cartons, phone books, calendars, books (hard & soft cover), paper bags, cardboard boxes and cereal boxes. (No dirty pizza or other oil contaminated products)
PLASTIC: Pop bottles, milk jugs, margarine tubs and lids, ice cream pails, shampoo bottles and all other containers with the recyclable symbol.
TINS: Soup and vegetable tins, coffee cans
(The above items are to go in the Green and Gray bins at the Kelwood dump.)
ALUMINIM: pop, beer and some juice cans only go in a separate bin.

GLASS: There is a separate area for glass.
ELECTRONICS: (TV, radios, computers, cell phones, microwaves) are kept in a separate area then transferred to Evergreen disposal site.

*The RM will transfer household waste from Elk Ranch to the Eden Facility. If you have more than 3 bags of household garbage at one time, please haul to either the Eden or Kelwood Waste Disposal Site.
Elk Ranch is only set up as a transfer station.
