Minutes of the regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Rosedale held on the above date in the Municipal Office, Neepawa, with the following members present: Reeve Bill Martin, Councillors Ernie Schure – Ward 1, Robert Scott – Ward 2, Steve Pegoski – Ward 3, Ron Kostenchuk – Ward 4, Michael Porrok – Ward 5, Duane Stewart – Ward 6
17/01 Pegoski – Porrok
That this regular meeting of Council convenes at 10:00 a.m. with Reeve Bill Martin as chairman.
17/02 Schure – Pegoski
Council of the R. M. of Rosedale approves the Agenda for January 13, 2017.
17/03 Kostenchuk – Schure
That Whereas Section 65(2) of the Municipal Act states that Council must designate a year prior to the current year for which properties must be offered for sale to recover the tax sale and costs.
Therefore the Council of the Rural Municipality of Rosedale will sell all properties that are in arrears of taxes for the year 2015.
17/04 Pegoski – Porrok
That we agree to pay Taylor Law Office $200.00 for our 2017 retainer fees.
17/05 Pegoski – Schure
That the minutes of the regular meeting held December 9, 2016 be adopted as circulated.
17/06 Pegoski – Porrok
That the following hourly charges be levied for the use of Municipal Machinery for 2017 Custom Work:
CAT – $110.00 for the first hour then $95.00 per hour
Snowplowing – $1.75 per minute with a minimum charge of $25.00
Patrol – $1.25 per minute with a minimum charge of R25.00
Tractor & Mower – $60.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $25.00
Backhoe – $75.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $25.00
17/07 Pegoski – Kostenchuk
That we agree to grant the Burrows Trail Arts Council $200.00 for 2017 and in addition we would like to give an in-kind donation of $125.00 per month/$1,500.00 per year for storage.
17/08 Kostenchuk – Schure
That we agree to grant the Viscount Cultural Council $200.00 for 2017 and in addition we would like to give an in-kind donation of $125.00 per month/$1,500.00 per year for storage.
17/09 Pegoski – Porrok
That we agree to grant Kidsport $250.00 for 2017 from VLT funds.
Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 – $50
17/10 Schure – Kostenchuk
That we agree to pay our 2017 membership to the Hudson Bay Route Association of $300.00
17/11 Pegoski – Scott
That we agree to provide a payment of $1000.00 to Mary-Ellen Clark for her volunteer efforts with the medical clinic in 2015 and 2016.
17/12 Stewart – Scott
That we the Council of the Rural Municipality of Rosedale agree to sell Lot 1, Block 2, Plan 7031 in the Town of Kelwood to Don Mutch for $650 plus all legal and transfer costs.
17/13 Pegoski – Kostenchuk
That we authorize the CAO to attend the CMMA Tutorials scheduled to place February 3, 2017 and March 23, 2017 in Brandon and that allowable expenses be paid.
17/14 Stewart – Porrok
That we agree to grant the following from VLT funding from Ward 6:
Kelwood Skating Rink – $1,500
Riding Mountain Curling Club – $1,000
Ward 5 – 6 – $500
17/15 Porrok – Kostenchuk
That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale agree to pay out the remainder of Colleen McLaughlin’s 7 days’ worth of holidays for 2016.
