RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ROSEDALE

February 10, 2017

Minutes of the regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Rosedale held on the above date in the Municipal Office, Neepawa, with the following members present: Reeve Bill Martin, Councillors Ernie Schure – Ward 1, Robert Scott – Ward 2, Steve Pegoski – Ward 3, Ron Kostenchuk – Ward 4, Michael Porrok – Ward 5, Duane Stewart – Ward 6

That this regular meeting of Council convenes at 10:00 a.m. with Reeve Bill Martin as chairman.

Council of the R. M. of Rosedale approves the Agenda for February 10, 2017.

That the minutes of the regular meeting held January 13, 2017 and the Special Meeting held February 1, 2017 be adopted as circulated.

That Council approves the accounts for the month and amounts as follows:

General           Water

December 2016       $1,666,294.64         $1947.61

We the Council adopt the December 2016 financial statements.

We agree to grant the HAND Committee $894.85 which represents 55 cents per capita for 2017 for their programs.

17/31        Kostenchuk – Pegoski

That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale agree to grant the Manitoba Crime Stoppers Association $162.70 to help defray the web site and office costs for 2017.

17/32        Porrok – Schure

We agree to grant the Neepawa Curling Club $2750.00 to assist with renovations and updates in 2017.

That we agree to grant NACTV $200.00 for 2017 from VLT funds.

That we the Council agree to grant the Franklin Hall $4500.00 from our VLT Funds.

That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale agree to grant the Eden COPP $100 to assist with providing the members a year-end pot luck supper.

That the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale approve an in-kind donation in the equivalent amount of $1,500 to The Harvest Sun Music Festival in the form of water usage, lawn maintenance (as required) and the loaning of snow fence for use during the 2017 festival.

That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale request Transportation and Government Services for 10% grant of annual value of the gravel road initiative agreement.

That we the Council agree to grant the 2017 Yellowhead Arena Board Sign Advertising $300.00 plus tax from our VLT Funds.

That we authorize Glen Ursel, Weed Inspector to attend the Municipal Weed Control seminar on March 22, 2017 in Carberry, MB and that allowable expenses be paid.

That we authorize Kara Sylvester, CAO to attend the PUB Utility Rate Boot Camp on February 24, 2017 in Brandon, MB and that allowable expenses be paid.

That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale agree to grant the Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute $500 to provide the Rosedale Centennial Scholarship to a graduating student in 2017.

We the Council agree to increase Sydney Burton wages by 2% as of March 1, 2017.

That we the Council of the R. M. of Rosedale authorize the Reeve and CAO to sign the Veterinary Services Agreement; effective January 2017.
